Suma Kanakala is an Indian TV anchor, TV actress, singer, and producer who predominantly works in Telugu television. She is best known for hosting Star Maa and E TV.
Her first movie was Kalyana Praapthirasthu in 1996 which was a Telugu language movie. Her first Malayalam movie was Newspaper Boy which was released in 1997. Her first TV debut was Anveshitha Serial in ETV Telugu.
In addition to acting and hosting, she has also tried singing and sang a song titled Suya Suya Anasuya from Telugu film winner.

Her mother tongue is Malayalam but she can speak Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English as well.
She married actor Rajiv Kanakala in 1999 and from him she has one boy and one girl named Roshan and Manaswini respectively.

Career
She has been working as a presenter from the age of 21. She has hosted a lot of Telugu film audio launches, film awards, and functions. She has worked in many Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam language films. She entered in serials in 1995 but her biggest breakthrough was Swayamvaram, Anveshitha, Geetanjali, and Ravoyi Chandamama which gave her much popularity. She didn’t have any interest in working in movies.
Her most popular show Star Mahila on ETV, which gained much attention from the female audience, has created a record of one of the longest-running women’s game shows in India.
Awards
She has won a Nandi Award for best TV Anchor in 2010 Panchavataram. She has also won a Local TV Media Awards as Best Anchor Star Mahila 2010. She also won a Cinegoer Award as Best Anchor Star Mahila in 2010. She won the Limca Fresh Face award in 2009 and got placed in Limca’s book of world records for the successful completion of 2000 episodes of Star Mahila. And an Apsara award in 2018 for entertainer of the year.
