Divine used to accompany his mother to a church in Marol during his school days, where he practiced rap songs in divinity and peach, and from there he established himself as a Divine rapper. When he first began to listen to 50 Cent and Eminem’s tracks, which were in English, he began to rap in English, but subsequently realized that Hindi was more natural and easy for him, so he began to rap in Hindi. His mother gave him a microphone and a computer when he graduated from college so he could establish his own rapping studio. His first song, Voice of the Street, was posted on YouTube in 2013.
Divine made his Bollywood debut in Anurag Kashyap’s sports drama film Mukkabaaz, where he co-wrote the song Paintra with Nucleya, which was his second collaboration with Nucleya in 2017. Following that, Divine teamed with prominent Indian singer and music director Amit Trivedi on the song Badla from Irfan Khan’s film Blackmail, which was released on India’s largest label T-Series on March 16, 2018.
