Arnab Goswami Bio
Arnab Goswami is the most recognized and famous Indian news anchor and journalist who is also known as the managing director and editor-in-chief of Republic Media Network. He owns and operates three channels in Republic Media Network namely Republic TV in English language, Republic Bharat in the Hindi language, and Republic Bangla in the Bengali language.
He was born on 7 March 1973 in Guwahati, Assam, India. His age is 52 years as of 2025.
Family Details and Educational Qualification
His father Manoranjan Goswami was Colonel in the Indian Army and served in the army for 30 years and later joined Bharatiya Janata Party after his retirement. His mother Suprabha Gain Goswami is an author.
Goswami’s wife is Samyabrata Ray Goswami who is also a journalist and a co-owner of Republic TV. He has a son named Che Goswami who is named after the revolutionary Che Guevara.
He completed his 10th and 12th grades at St Mary’s School in Delhi Cantonment and Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jabalpur Cantonment, respectively. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Hindu College in Delhi University and a Master’s degree in Social Anthropology from St Antony’s College at Oxford University. Arnab was also a Visiting DC Pavate Fellow at the International Studies Department at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University in 2000.

He started his career with ‘The Telegraph’ in Kolkata as a journalist and within a year he moved to Delhi and joined NDTV. There, he hosted Newsnight for which he won an award as the Best News Anchor of Asia in 2004.
In 2006, he joined the newly launched Times Now as its editor-in-chief. He has covered live news with many famous personalities and he was the first anchor to interview Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Republic channel was launched on 6 May 2017 as a free-to-air channel. Many people invested and joined the channel and among them, Goswami was the managing director as well as editor-in-chief of the channel.
He has also written a book named ‘Combating Terrorism: The Legal Challenge’ in 2002.
